Jimmy and Paul (Willis and Morgan), two suspended cops working for the NYPD, are celebrating their ninth year as partners. Jimmy’s daughter Ava (Michelle Trachtenberg) is getting married, and the price for the wedding is close to fifty thousand dollars. Paul is worried that his wife is cheating on him, so he sets up a video camera in a teddy bear. While Jimmy is selling his valuable baseball card to pay for the wedding, Paul is calling his wife.

However, Jimmy is robbed by Dave (Sean William Scott), who steals his card and Paul’s favorite gun. They find out that Dave is going to rob a house that night, so they stake out the house to retrieve the card and gun. Jimmy arrests Dave and discovers he has sold the card and gun for drugs. Jimmy previews the tape from Paul’s hidden camera and tells Paul there’s nothing on it. They go to the dealer, who tells them they may have the card if they retrieve a stolen car. When they find the car, they discover a woman named Gabriela (Ana de la Reguera) in the trunk. Paul then sees the tape from his hidden camera and is heartbroken when he sees that Jimmy has lied: his wife is with another man in their bedroom. Gabriela flees, leaving them a flashdrive concealed in a rosary, which contains information about offshore bank accounts. Jimmy and Paul pay Dave’s bail so that he may retrive the card and gun, but he falls out of a tree and apparently dies. Jimmy goes in to retrieve the card, but is surrounded by the gang. At the same time, Paul learns that his wife is not cheating on him after all: she has played a trick on him for hiding the camera in their bedroom. After killing most of the gang, Paul and Jimmy find the dealer holding Gabriela at gunpoint. They shoot him dead, but Paul’s bullet goes through the head of the baseball player on Jimmy’s card, which is hidden in the dealer’s shirt pocket. In the closing credits, it is revealed that Dave did not perish in the fall when he yells at the coroner opening the body bag.

Milo Boyd (Gerard Butler), a down-on-his-luck bounty hunter, gets his dream job when he is assigned to track down his bail-jumping ex-wife, reporter Nicole Hurly (Jennifer Aniston). He thinks all that’s ahead is an easy payday, but when Nicole gives him the slip so she can chase a lead on a murder cover-up, Milo realizes that nothing ever goes simply with him and Nicole. The exes continue to one-up each other until they find themselves on the run for their lives. The film was filmed in Brooklyn, New York, and other various places in the United States. As of September 13, 2009, a filming location is Monmouth Park Racetrack in Oceanport, New Jersey. On the same day, Columbia Pictures posted warnings throughout the Racetrack warning attendees that they may be part of the filming, and that if they wish not to be, to leave the premises.

Gerard Butler was involved in various stunts throughout the movie and a body double was used to perform certain scenes. During filming, his stunt double performed a stunt jumping off a building. After watching many takes, Gerard decided to do the jump himself, which is the scene shown in trailers.

Water. Earth. Fire. Air. In the old days, there was peace between the four nations of the world. The Avatar — the spiritual and physical manifestation of the Earth itself — kept peace between the the Water Tribes, the Earth Kingdom, the Fire Nation, and the Air Nomads. Only the Avatar has the ability to manipulate all four elements, but one day, he simply disappeared.

In the interim, the Fire Nation attacked, and for the last hundred years have carried out an all out war on the rest of the world. Now, for the good of the world, it’s up to 12-year-old Aang (Noah Ringer), the new Avatar, to return peace and balance by putting his childish ways aside and mastering the four elements. Aang must accept his destiny by stopping the Fire Nation’s war and defeating the Fire Lord for good.

In a world where the four elements can be controlled by people known as “Benders”, the Fire Nation is waging a ruthless, oppressive war to control the other great nations. The only hope for stopping the brutal war led by the Firebenders rests on the shoulders of a reluctant young boy named Aang (Noah Ringer). The last known survivor of the peaceful Air Nomads and the Airbenders, Aang is the “Avatar”. The “Avatar” is the physical re-incarnation of the world spirit, with the power to manipulate all four elements and draw upon the power, knowledge, and experiences of the Avatar’s previous incarnations.

The Avatar is responsible for maintaining balance between the four nations of the world and the spirit world, hence keeping the balance of the world. Aided by a protective teenage Waterbender named Katara (Nicola Peltz) and her bull-headed brother Sokka (Jackson Rathbone), Aang begins a perilous journey to restore balance to their war-torn world. Standing in their way are Fire Nation Admiral Zhao (Aasif Mandvi) and Prince Zuko (Dev Patel), the banished prince of the Fire Nation who seeks to capture the young Avatar to regain his honor.

Shyamalan originally offered the roles of Aang to Tae Kwon Do-trained Texan Noah Ringer; Sokka to Jackson Rathbone (Twilight); Katara to Nicola Peltz (Deck the Halls); and Zuko to Jesse McCartney. The casting of white actors in Asian roles triggered negative fan reaction marked by accusations of racism, a letter-writing campaign, and a protest outside of a Philadelphia casting call for movie extras.

Rathbone dismissed the complaints, saying “I think it’s one of those things where I pull my hair up, shave the sides, and I definitely need a tan. It’s one of those things where, hopefully, the audience will suspend disbelief a little bit.” In February 2009, Dev Patel replaced McCartney, whose tour dates conflicted with a boot camp scheduled for the cast to train in martial arts.

Aasif Mandvi will play Admiral Zhao, Shaun Toub will play Uncle Iroh, Cliff Curtis will play Fire Lord Ozai and Keong Sim has been cast in the role of an Earthbender. Katharine Houghton and Seychelle Gabriel are expected to play “Gran Gran”, the grandmother of Katara and Sokka, and Princess Yue, another of Sokka’s love interests and princess of the Northern Water Tribe, respectively. According to Paramount Pictures, Isaac Jin Solstein is playing an earthbending boy.

The teaser trailer for the film was attached to Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, released in theaters on June 24, 2009. The teaser trailer was also shown on Entertainment Tonight, June 22, 2009 as an ET network exclusive. The ad for the movie was attached to Nick.com, the home for the the original series. The trailer shows Aang airbending in a temple which is being attacked by mulitudes of fire nation ships.

Ubisoft’s popular video-game series of the same name gets adapted for the big screen in this sweeping fantasy adventure starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Gemma Arterton. The setting is sixth century Persia. A nefarious nobleman covets the Sands of Time, a legendary gift from the gods that allows its possessor to turn back time. Whoever owns the Sands of Time has the power to rule the world, and this villainous lord would use that power to enslave all of humanity.

The only person capable of defeating this tyrant and saving the world is Dastan (Gyllenhaal), a youthful prince. Now, with plucky princess Tamina (Gemma Arterton) by his side, Dastan will attempt to prevent the Sands of Time from falling into the wrong hands. Mike Newell (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire) directs a script penned by Carlo Bernard, Doug Miro, Jordan Mechner, and Boaz Yakin.

Currently, it is the fourth film under the Walt Disney Pictures banner to receive a PG-13 rating by the MPAA (and the first not in the Pirates of the Caribbean series) for intense sequences of violence and action. Despite the film being primarily based on The Sands of Time, elements from Warrior Within and The Two Thrones are also incorporated.

Set in medieval Persia, the story of an adventurous prince who teams up with a rival princess to stop an angry ruler from unleashing a sandstorm that could destroy the world. Which is why after the prince was tricked by a dying Vizier to unleash the Sands of Time that turns out to destroy a kingdom and transforms its populace into ferocious demons. In his effort to save his own kingdom and redeem his fatal mistake, it’s up to the prince and the princess to return the sands to the hourglass by using the Dagger of Time, which also gives him a limited control over the flow of time.

After years of dating, Zoe (Jennifer Lopez) has decided waiting for the right one is taking too long. Determined to become a mother, she commits to a plan, makes an appointment and decides to go it alone. How to Train Your Dragon (also known as How to Train Your Dragon 3D) is an computer-animated film by DreamWorks Animation based on the 2003 book of that same title. The film stars the voice talents of Jay Baruchel, America Ferrera, Jonah Hill, Gerard Butler, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Craig Ferguson. The film is scheduled to be released on March 26, 2010. This is also the second movie Jonah Hill and Christopher Mintz-Plasse will be together in since 2007’s Superbad.

The film is set in a mythical world of vikings and dragons. The story centers around a viking teenager named Hiccup (Jay Baruchel), who lives on the island of Berk, where fighting dragons is a way of life. The teen’s smarts and offbeat sense of humor is disliked by his tribe and its chief, Hiccup’s father. However, when Hiccup is included in Dragon Training with the other viking teens, he sees his chance to prove he has what it takes to be a fighter. After he entangles a dragon with a bolas-shooting cannon, Hiccup releases and ends up befriending the dragon. This relationship flips his world upside down as he strives to convince his tribe that they do not need to be dragon-slayers.

In initial development, the plot followed the original novel closely but was then altered. About halfway through production, Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois took over as co-directors. The original plot was “heavily loyal to the book” but was regarded as geared to a too-young demographic and too “sweet” and “whimsical”, according to Baruchel. In the novel, Hiccup’s dragon Toothless is incredibly small for a dragon. In the film, Toothless is a Night Fury, the rarest of all dragons, and is large enough to serve as a flying mount for both Hiccup and the girl Astrid.

An advance screening resulted in a financial analyst projecting the film to be a major boost for the studio due to a strong marketing plan, merchandising opportunities and potential for sequels. The film was expected to be heavily promoted during the 2010 Winter Olympics prior to its release date of March 26, 2010. The videogame of the same name will be produced by Activision.

• Jonah Hill as Snotface Snotlout – The son of Hiccup’s uncle, making him and Hiccup cousins. Snotlout hopes to be the chief one day, but Hiccup is the heir (in fact, if something happened to Hiccup, he’d be next in line for the job), which has spawned a hatred between them. He is strong and muscular, and is good at being a Viking. Snotlout owns a dragon named Fireworm.
