Drag Me to Hell is an 2009 American horror film written and directed by Sam Raimi, director of Spider-Man and The Evil Dead trilogy, and co-written by Sam’s brother Ivan Raimi. It stars Alison Lohman and Justin Long. It is set to be released on May 29, 2009. It is Raimi’s first directorial horror film in 17 years. It is rated PG-13 in the US. A loan officer ordered to evict an old woman from her home finds herself the recipient of a supernatural curse, which turns her life into a living hell. Desperate, she turns to a seer to try and save her soul, while evil forces work to push her to a breaking point.

In a bid to demonstrate her assertiveness to her boss, Christine (Lohman) denies the request of an elderly Slavic woman for an extension on her mortgage. In desperation, the woman prostrates herself before Christine, begging and kissing the hem of her skirt. As a crowd gathers, Christine harshly rejects the woman’s pleas.

That night, the elderly woman, enraged and humiliated, exacts revenge by placing a curse upon Christine, who later learns from a psychic that she is to be tortured for three days by a lamia before being dragged to hell to burn for eternity.
